When I heard about Eileen Iver’s concert, I was excited. I finally have the chance to hear some great Irish music! I went with high expectations, and those were blown out of the water! Everything about the show was energetic and entertaining. The musician’s fingers moved faster than what I thought to be humanly possible, the O’Shea Dancers moved in unison and Eileen was welcoming and personal. I think that in this aspect, she was able to connect with many of the audience members both in her stories about growing up and the way her playing flowed straight from Ireland.
The O’Shea dancers were very professional. The steps were complicated, but they did a very good job. Unfortunately, they didn’t come on stage as much as I would have liked, but I enjoyed every bit that they were on stage.
If I had the opportunity to see Eileen again, I would in half a heartbeat. I thoroughly enjoyed every part about the performance. One of my favorite pieces was the hymn ‘Let the Circle Be Unbroken’. The audience was invited to join in, and it felt something like an old fashioned tent meeting. It was wonderful and I would go again just to experience being a part of it. I highly recommend seeing Eileen Ivers in concert. It will be an experience you will never forget!

Thanks Bree
What I found interesting about the evening was the Ordway's ability to put two groups back to back with virtually all the same instruments on stage and have them perform both Zydeco music from Louisiana, and the Celtic music from Ireland. It was a real treat to see what two talented groups could do with the same instruments. I was also interesting to see how music had told the stories of these two groups history in America. In the end Eileen ended with a bit of Blue grass that completed the link between these two completely different styles. Frankly if you would told me I would go to see two groups at the Ordway that both had Accordions in them in the last month, and I would thoroughly enjoyed it, I would not had believed it.
Eileen Iver is a truly talented musician back up by a group no less talented than the members of Immigrant Soul.
The highlight of the night was to be in the city of St Paul on St Patty's day with an Irish band with a group of people that embraces the Heritage of their roots like these people do.
Those of us that just love Irish music that is played well, it was a night to remember for us too. This was prevalent in the many, young and old that came forward to dance as the concert progressed.
If you see Eileen Ivers and the Immigrant soul coming to a location near you, I would recommend seeing them. She is talented musician and a true entertainer.
Mark
